Sometimes it crashes out of nowhere

This was the best app I found for this type of function, but sometimes I get a little annoyed with a problem. Sometimes it happens that OUT OF NOWHERE it stops working. The shortcut key no longer works, nor does going directly to the app. There's no point in closing and reopening the program. The only solution is to restart the computer.

    Hey! I’ve just released a new update that should fix the crashes. Please update the app from the Microsoft Store and test it over the next few days. Let me know if the crashes are gone or still happening. I really appreciate your feedback — thanks!

    Hey! Thanks a lot for your message — really glad to hear Sleekshot has been the best tool for you.

    About the issue where it randomly stops working: I’d love to fix that, but I need a bit more info to reproduce it properly. Could you please share the following details?

    • Windows version and build (e.g., Windows 11 Pro, 22621.3737)

    • Processor (e.g., Intel i5-1135G7 / AMD Ryzen 7 5800H)

    • Amount of RAM

    • Approximate free RAM when the issue happens (check Task Manager)

    • Monitor resolution and setup (single or multiple monitors)

    • Do you notice any patterns before it happens (e.g., sleep mode, second screen unplugged, etc.)?

    • Try to assign another shortcut

    • Is app open on the crash (check tray icon)? Or it stays opened and you can call it from tray, and just shortcut doesn’t work?

      Hey Viktor! I thank you for your attention and desire to continually improve this fantastic program.

      • Windows 11 Home Single Language, V 24H2, compilation 26100.4351

      • Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-10300H CPU @ 2.50GHz 2.50 GHz

      • RAM 24,0 GB

      • Free ram - 12,8gb

      • Monitor Philips 242V - Resolution 1920×1080

      • I noticed that it happens when I also use the native Windows capture tool or the Lightshot application. (I use Lightshot sometimes because I need images in JPEG or JPG, and Sleekshot only provides them in PNG, which makes it difficult for me to use in AutoCAD) - Here's a tip to have the option to save in JPEG and JPG as well.

      • I'll try this option for a few days, and I'll come back to tell you if I had any problems.

      • It won't let me copy or save. It still works, but I can't save or copy the image. (I noticed that yesterday when this problem occurred, it closed from the icon tray)

        Thank you so much for your feedback! I’ve found a few spots that might be causing the app to crash (I’m not able to reproduce it yet, but I hope it will help). I’ll need about 1–2 weeks of local testing to make sure the update doesn’t introduce new issues. After that, I’ll be able to publish it to the Microsoft Store.

        I also now understand why saving in JPEG format is important, so I’ll add an option to choose the format in the settings—just like in Lightshot.

        Looking forward to hearing the results of your experiment with a different hotkey. Really appreciate you continuing to use the app!
